Do you know that good people don't go to Heaven? Most people think if they do more good things than bad, they've got a pretty good chance of God giving them the nod and letting them in. But that's ot the way God works. God doesn't let good people in, but He does have a plan in place and it requires a perfect sacrifice.
The bad news is that none of us have that to offer because all of us come up short of God's perfect standard of living. But the good news is that we don't have to offer a perfect sacrifice ecause Jesus did! He lived a perfect life and then gave it up for us. His death on the cross was the sacrifice God required to take away and forgive every wrong thing we've ever done.
The world seems crazy and hard and bad, and everyday things happen that make us scratch our heads and wonder where in the world God could possibly BE. Even though we don't always see Him at work, we can be sure that He IS at work and we can have peace even when things get crazy in our lives. But the only way to have true peace is by letting Jesus have control of your life. Let Him forgive your sins and ask Him to help you live in a way that's pleasing to God.
The prayer is easy:
Lord, I know I'm a sinner and I know I can never do enough good things make up for them. But I believe you sent Jesus to live the perfect life that You require, and He gave up that perfect life so that I could be forgiven. I believe He died on the cross, rose from the grave and is sitting with You in Heaven right now.
I ask you to forgive me for every wrong thing I've ever done, and help me to stop living MY way and start living YOUR way.
Thank you for your grace and your mercy to me!
